I have only one telephone number (analogue) I am using this for calling purpose. I have set FB 6340 for integrated fax to be forwarded to email but without any dedicated number, so whenever somebody sends me a fax,6340 doe not recognise it as a fax & telephone rings & does not want set my telephone number as fax because when somebody calls on this number he gets fax tone.

Is there any solution for this?

Only I have to download Fritz fax file to configure 6340 to send the fax.

As you said I also receive very rare fax.

One more thing is that I use VOIP for calling foreign countries like UK,US & India and for that purpose I use VOIP (registered with one private provider) which is connected to FB 7170 for voip telephony. Since FB6340 does not have option, I plan to buy Gigaset C610 ip phone which has landline port(TAE) as well as RJ 45 port & it supports landline as well as voip telephony, so that I will only one telephone device instead of two now.. do you have any experience??? Please share your views.

Point of interest is at the end of the document: "Assigning number(s)" - here "automatic fax detection".
I don't like such configurations. I tried and it works but this no good idea regarding incoming phone callers.

For international calls and german mobil calls I use several companys beyond dellmont corp.

I can't say anything about Gigaset phones.
I use my old Fritzboxes. If they don't work any more, I think I will use Gigaset too.

Thanks for your reply. I have connected FB7170 to Lan 2 port with Laptop & now works. I have access to FB 7170
Before I used to always connect to 7170 with Laptop to Lan port 1....

Also as u said also changed the ip settings in FB 7170 & again connected to FB 6340... And now I have access to FB 6340 as well as FB 7170...

For sending fax from FB6340 should I download FRITZ.FAX?

This morning I spent some time in several tests.
In my mind best practice for incoming and outgoing fax with 1 line is as follows:
(Please remember, we are talking about very less incoming fax)
Install Fritz!Fax (while installing procedure take care to disable any firewall on your pc)
After install Fritz!Fax should start without any error messages.
If you get some messages only push ok button. (maybe several times).
Now you should open fax - settings - ISDN and check my settings.
Your local phone has to be replace my "123456" (my number is only fake)
If you got some error messages before, I guess radio button "Fritzbox Internet" is greyed and not pushable.
In this case you have to close setup window (better fritz!fax too) and to call #96*3* to enable capiovertcp (http://service.avm.de/support/de/skb/FR ... rtet-nicht only availible in german)
Now this should work correct. Otherwise I give you another link.
I aktivated in enhanced settings speech too.

In my envirement I got this:
If Fritz!Fax ist opened, I get Fax inbound and Fax outbound but no phone.
If Fritz!Fax is closed, phone is active.
If you disable dialin in Fritzfax, phone inboundt and fax outbound will work.
Disadvantage in this scenario: Fax sender has to anounce fax before via phone.

Did you tried AVM variant?

1. give your Fritzbox a password (if not already done)
2. make sure your Fritzbox desktop is in enhanced mode
You will find both points in menu "System"

3. install a simple analogue phone on Fritzbox (if not already done)
4. call #96*3* with this phone and wait about 15 sec. (until you hear busy signal).
5. Login to your PC with administrator privileges .
6. Start Fritz!Fax and Check "fax over internet"
7. If its still grey reboot your pc and check again.
8. If there was no effekt

9. register on http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/ (without registration no download)
10. Download Fritz!Box_CAPIoTCP_Status_2108.zip at http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread ... ost1874421
11. extract file whereever you want
12. run Fritz!Box_CAPIoTCP_Status.exe / enter password /click "CAPIoTCP status"
13. if enabled = "0" click "CAPIoTCP an" few seconds later enabled should be "1"
14. maxctrl should be < 1 (this is text field)
15. port should be 5031 (no change)
Before you go to points 6 to 8 please make a small coffee break or just wait 1 minute.
