Dear Everybody

I am customer of Kabel BW( CK25) since 2 years, my contract is ending in April 2012. I want to extend it for another two years. As owner of the house has cancelled the contract for kabelanschluss in our building, I will take my own kabelanschluss.
Also I am interested in Router “AVM Fritz box 6360 Cable” provided by Kabel BW, but this comes only with ISDN option. If I take ISDN option, I have the following questions:

1) As I have (analogue) Panasonic all in machine with telephone, fax & AB, can I attach it to Fritz box 6360 as I do not want to buy a new ISDN phone. This machine I want to use normal like now for phone & fax. Will it work?

2) Also I want to connect a analogue telephone for VOIP in the router( works fine with my current FB 7170) is it possible?

3) Does this router FB 6360 is blocked by Kabel BW for any applications? Or one can use all the functions stated in user manual by manufacturer.

Thanks in advance for all the replies. Also as my Deutsch is not so good that is why I am writing in English. Please help me out.

the FB has 2 analogue lines. so yes. it should work.

the FB is able to do VOIP. unfortuntaly KabelBW configures the FB only in the Bussiness contract with this option. So for the Privat CK 25 with ISDN Option its not available.

a few options are only available with the bussiness contract. But as far as i know only the VOIP. But maybe other members know more.

So I can connect my All in one analogue phone to this port and will not have any problem with phone as well as fax for calling as well as receiving calls. So I do not have to buy new ISDN phone. :D

I will make a contract for Clever all classic for 49,95 € (monthly) is it possible? :?:

Thanks in advance.

hi,
first off all what happend in your house?
Did your owner changed TV from cable to satelite?

Did you canceld CK25 contract or was it canceled by Kabelbw? (usualy contract will go ahead automaticaly for 1 year)
Therefore you should clear this best via kablebw shop. A call will be expensive and not very effective.

You should take care on a solution asap. If it not works you may get some difficulties if your contract was not canceled.

Technical:
If you have a look on it: http://www.avm.de/de/Produkte/FRITZBox/ ... /index.php it seems similar to 7170.
Main differences:
now DECT available.
LAN works with 1GB
WLAN works with "N"
unfortuantly SIP from other companies like sipgate can't be registered, but there is a solution availible:
You can conect your 7170 as client to 6360. Here you can register like before.

Some functions (i.e. vpn outside service provided by AVM) dosn't work yet.
I think, it is not blocked, there is only an error in firmware.

Hi

Thanks for quick reply.

I have already cancelled contract with Kabel BW.They have given me a good offer with All clever classic for monthly 49.95€
inclusive own kabelanschluss.
My owner has cancelled the contract with KBW as he is installing Satelite.

As router is concerned I have configured my 7170 with SIP settings for VOIP provider(Action Voip) to call outside Germany as it is cheaper. Can I configure also 6360 with same settings? as this important for me as I call much outside Germany using this provider. Please reply.

Thanks in advance.

I was interested in ISDN option only because of FB 6360 as I would have Modem & Router in one device. but if SIP settings for VOIP are blocked for Private customer in FB6360, then best option will be for me to stay without ISDN in clever all classic package and buy new FB 7270.As SIP settings for VOIP are very important for me because of lot of international calls.

What is your opinion guys?

Hi

if you would like to use your phones for VOIP, I would recommend to use your old FB 7170.

Please be aware, you cannot upgrade the firmware of FB 6360 manually. You'll receive all firmware upgrades for FB 6360 through KBW only. You do not have any possibility to do this by yourself. As hajodele and der_ny already mentioned, KBW has blocked VOIP with FB 6360.

This or a special Voip-Phone and a normal Router.

But first of all you should clear, what happens within your house.
Do you get a new connector for SAT-TV? Yes - Perfect. The old cable could be used.
Do you need cable TV or is SAT ok? Without cable-TV you could try to get a only Internet contract (you would safe about 17 Euro/month)
Did you talked with owner? He has do give allowness.
There are so many questions belonging contract. These must be answered first. Only one "no" may stop complete project.

Thanks for the reply. The situation is like this:
Till March 2009, I was with Deutsche Telekom, as Kabel BW was cheaper compared to DT, I made a contract with KBW. I live in old building where the cables in the wall were too old for internet connection. So KBW laid me new cable from our cellar to my living room with new connector at their cost. Till today everything runs smooth.
This January 2012, owner of the building cancelled the contract with KBW as there some people in building interested in new contract for internet with KBW but since cables in wall were too old and only option was to renew the cables, but neither KBW nor Owner want to bear the cost of renovation resulting in cancelling contract with KBW which is on 22.07.2012. He wants install Satellite for tenants for television.
Now I want to extend my contract with KBW, my owner has no objection. The new kabelanschluss will be in my living room (KBW agreed to bear the cost of installation).
My contract is till 30.04.2012, KBW has given me new offer that from March 2012 I will be upgraded to CK32 (with 6 months free monthly charges) from March till August 2012. Then in August I will have my own kabelanschluss & then from September I will be upgraded to all clever classic with monthly charges of € 49, 95
I was interested in ISDN only because FB6360 as I thought having separate modem & router it is better to have one device with both functions, but since KBW is not supporting VOIP for private customers, I am thinking to drop this idea.
Please advise if anything to be taken care of during this migration. Thanks in advance.

I hope it will work so.
If you get a new cable for SAT or you dont get SAT all will work. If owner get idea to use existing cable you get trouble.
I just read details about clever classic and it seems there are no extra costs (regarding 17 Euro I talked about). This is included.

The 7170 could used. But it is to slow for this internet speed. Maybe you did not get full speed before.
So you could use either 7270 oder 7390. Handling is same as 7170. Both have few features more.

Sorry - I don't have any expierences with international editions.
Within german editions it works at same way.

If there is no need talking via several lines there is absolute no need using ISDN-Option.
I'm using 6360 with my family. Just now 2 Lines are working. I have one SIP-Account connected to my old 7170

Thanks a lot for your reply & help. Highly appreciated!! :16:

Have a nice evening & weekend ahead. :D

DECT and USB is not available too. But regarding voip it is the same procedure. This is made by Kabelbw not by AVM.
