Hi everybody,

I'm a customer from Unitymedia Hessen (Mainz Taunus Kreis area).
Since 1 week (since the 25/11/14), most of the french channels (France2/France3/France5/France24) are not available anymore ("Smart Card nicht aktiviert...").
Those channels were always free until now...
I don't understand why I can't access those channels anymore? I called today (02/12/14) the customer service and they were not able to give me an answer or to solve the problem.

What have changed? Are the channels still free and I have a problem with my card? Are the channels now to pay in an extra paket??

Unitymedia chanced the conditions for receiving the french channels France 2, France 3, France 5, France 24 Francaise.
Since 25th of November you must order the french package "DigitalTV Französisch". It's one of the packages "DigitalTV International".
Since 25th November the channel "France 4" is also a part of the french package.
You can get the package "DigitalTV Französisch" for 2,99 €/month.

By the way: (only) the channel "France 24 (in english)" is for free.

This is what I was afraid of: pay more, receive less channels... that's pretty unfaire...

If Unitymedia continue like this, in 5 years, I will pay 80€ a month to receive 10 channels...
They remove channels from my contract, but the price is still the same... well, thanks guys!!

Not quite correct.....
France TV was part of the bonus package.

Every costumer get's a few channels as a kind of present addictional to his booked package.

France TV are now part of "Kabel Digital Frankreich" for 2,99€ / Month.

For this price you receiver one station more, this is France 4.

@Chris: When you give a present to somebody, do you always take it back after few years?

It's a present of time.
There are a few other stations like:

- GINX
- Pro TV Romania
- DUNA TV
etc.

that are part of "Bonus" and the can every day switched off. Thats how umkbw told it. I can only repeat how the costumers should see this bonus stations.

You have to know, this is a forum from costumers for costumers. We all don't work for UMKBW.

I'm just really pissed of against Unity media...doing that with a little information to the customers (letters, mail, whatever...) would have been so much more correct!
